WWC84 - Deborah's Sketch Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Welcome to Watercooler Wednesday! Deborah has given us a sketch challenge this week.
A sketch challenge can be a good way to kick-start an idea, as it gives you the basic design. All you have to do from there is decide colours and stamp set.

I have been having fun with the hostess stamp set Pun Intended, and I think the bee image is the most used stamp in that set, for me, right now.
I paired the bee with the circles from Playful Backgrounds - a really versatile stamp set. The card base of Peekaboo Peach is stamped first with the solid dots in Peekaboo Peach, which is stamped off once, and then the open circles. On the Whisper White panel, I just the open circles.

For the two vertical elements on the left,  I used  a strip from the Floral Boutique DSP and the Burlap Ribbon.

The bee is stamped with Archival Black and the stripes are coloured with Crushed Curry and Gold Wink of Stella, as are some of the dots. Clear Wink of Stella gives the wings some shimmer.

For the sentiment from Rose Wonder, I went with Night of Navy Ink. The scrolly lines are from the Tin of Cards stamp set, also done in Night of Navy.

Now it's your turn - pick your favourite colours and a stamp set or two and follow the sketch. Visit the Watercooler Wednesday blog to see what the other artists have done, and then link up yours.

  1. Gail I really love how you approached this sketch and your BEE-utiful design. The burlap strip is a nice touch and I love the little scrollie lines above and below the image. Thanks for sharing!
