Celebrating the new!
Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler June Blog Hop! If you are following in order, you have just been wowed by the awesome Marie.
This is an exciting time of year to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrator as we are able to showcase the amazing new stamps and paper and all the other fun stuff in the new 2015-2016 Catalogue. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to pre-order items before anyone else can. But, once the catalogue goes live - so to speak - we can show you many more great things.
And the first great thing that caught my eye was the Bohemian Borders photopolymer stamp set. Oh, the possibilities this set has! And the next great thing I had to order was the wonderful new Thick Whisper White cardstock! It is a 100# weight and will be perfect for so many projects.
The main image on this card was inspired by Ann Schach, a very gifted stamper - and a fellow dog lover! What could be a better combination? The colours are taken from the Bohemian Designer Series Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Delightful Dijon. The card stock is, of course, the fabulous new Thick Whisper White cardrdstock. It is a dream to stamp on.
I created the background by stamping the wavy lines from the Chalk Lines stamp set multiple times before re-inking. It makes a perfect complement for the Bohemian Borders stamps. A piece of the Bohemian DSP sets off the design against the white and at the bottom I stamped the 'just for you' from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
The next stamp set on my had-to-have list is Market Fresh. The images are perfect for colouring! And, guess what? The new Thick Whisper White CS is perfect for colouring too! Watercolouring even. How great is that? I stamped the main images with Black Staz-on ink and used the Aqua Painter to colour. Here is my Market Fresh Trio:
Want to see some close-ups?
Blackberry Bliss is a perfect colour for grapes. The leaves were done with Pear Pizazz and Cucumber Crush, Soft Suede for the stem. Delightful Dijon is perfect for the banner. I continued the green and purple colour scheme with the Bohemian DSP and Cucumber Crush cardstock.
Here I used Rose Red for the strawberries, Pear Pizzaz and Cucumber Crush for the leaves, Always Artichoke for the little leaves on top of the strawberries, Soft Suede for the stem and Delightful Dijon on the banner. Another pattern from the Bohemian DSP and Tip Top Taupe cardstock are perfect to highlight these berries.
The last stamp in this fun set! Colours are Cucumber Crush for the lettuce and again Delightful Dijon on the banner. The DSP is also from the Bohemian collection and the cardstock is Island Indigo.
There is co-ordinating Farmers Market Designer Series Paper to go with this stamp set. I haven't ordered it yet - but it will be on my next order I think. Along with another package of that new Thick Whisper White CS. Have I mentioned how much I love it? You have to give it a try!!!
And now you will move on to see what Priscilla has in store for you. You will be wowed! Just click on the Next button below.

Wow Gail. You've brought color and creativity to the hop! Love what you did with the Bohemian Borders and Chalk Lines. You've put a new idea in my head for how to create collage layering. My MOJO thanks you...and my CASE file has now gotten longer! That new thick Whisper White really is wonderful isn't it? Here's hoping Stampin' Up can keep it in stock. You may be tipping me towards Market Fresh as well. Looks like a fairly easy to color set of images. Nice to know that the Bohemian paper isn't a one trick pony. Looks beautiful as a background for the fruit and veggies. Thanks for adding to the hop so beautifully. Hope to see you next month too!
ReplyDeleteGail, I would never have thought to use the Bohemian Borders stamps the way you did. Love that card!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked fruit stamps (probably because I'm a little fruity!) and have been trying to decide if I should get the Market Fresh set. Your cards are so fun! Looks like you've convinced me to!
Thanks so much for sharing your great projects!
What a well thought out and creative card you've made with the Bohemian Borders stamps Gail. I love how you created the background. I just had an opportunity to see the Farmer's Market DSP this evening, and I was sold on it right away. Simply beautiful as are your cards with the Market Fresh stamp set. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGail, I thought the Bohemian borders set was kinda boring - until I saw your card!! It reminds me of a Navajo rug, with the pattern and the weaving look of the Chalk lines. Great colouring of the fruits & veggies :)
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Gail, you have created some gorgeous cards. I have been on the fence about the Market Fresh set. I love the paper, but wasn't sure what I would do with the stamp set. You've convinced me that I need it. Love your coloring and so good to know that the heavy WW takes this kind of coloring well.
ReplyDeleteGail, I love, LOVE that Bohemian card. what a spectacular background.
ReplyDeleteVery clever and creative, Gail! And, thanks - I just doubled my wish list. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, Gail. Your Bohemian card is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteLettuce Celebrate your projects! LOL Good job Gail!
ReplyDeleteThat Bohemian card reminds me of a blanket--so warm and pretty! And now I have to crack open my Market Fresh set--you've inspired me to create! Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects.
ReplyDeleteHi Gail, thanks so much for continuing to be part of our fun Blog Hop. I had totally overlooked that Bohemian Border set. It didn't appeal to me at all---until I saw your card, at least. What a wonderful pattern you've created and what great colours you've combined. I'm going to have to add that set to my list to join the Market Fresh set.
