WWC89 - Penny's Colour Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Welcome to Watercooler Wednesday! This week we have a very sophisticated colour challenge, courtesy of Penny.
While I do like the traditional colours of Christmas - red and green - I thought these luscious colours would work equally as well.
I started with the card base of Tip Top Taupe, then a layer of Soft Sky. On the Whisper White layer, I inked the Holly Embossing Folder with Tip Top Taupe before running it through the Big Shot.

For the sentiment, I stamped the label outline from Pretty Pines in Tip Top Taupe on Whisper White cardstock then fussy cut it out. The sentiment from the same stamp set is embossed in silver embossing powder. For more silver sparkle, I took some sequins off the silver Sequin Trim and scattered them around.

And that's it! Short and sweet. Now it's your turn. Show us how these colours inspire you. Visit the Watercooler Wednesday blog to see what the other Watercooler Artists have done, then link up your project.

That's it! Not

  1. Your post may be short and sweet Gail, but your card is drop dead gorgeous. Although these aren't traditional Christmas colours they add such warmth and comfort to your beautiful holly card. Love how you used the sentiment from Pretty Pines. Great card!

  2. Beautiful, Gail. The effect of the embossing/stamping with the inked Holly embossing folder is just wonderful for your background. Adding the silver sequins and heat embossing the sentiment in silver is just the right touch. Love it.
