Seeing Spots

I made these cards a while ago, took the photos, saved them in a folder on my desktop - and completely forgot about posting them!

Bokeh is such a fun technique and I love that the results are different every time I do it. The stamp set I used for these is a photopolymer set called Banner Blessings. You won't find it in the 2015-2016 Catalogue, but it can be ordered through my on-line store here. My cards are inspired by a sample created by a fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator - Tina Riddle.

Here's a look at the whole group I did - one for each greeting in the four-stamp set:

Now, let's see if I can remember what colours I used! Of course, I didn't make notes! I think I used Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Craft White. The greetings were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The sequins are from the retired In-Color Sequins. Each one has a small Basic Rhinestone in the middle. I loved that the shapes of the sequins could be matched to two of the sentiments - the Shine and Joyful Heart cards.

Here's a closeup of each design:

This is a very easy technique. One thing I did that makes the dots seem to float was that I used my heat tool to dry the White Craft ink thoroughly between doing each layer. I had trouble with the ink smearing when I used my circle stencil to do the different sizes. The heat tool was the solution!

I hope I have inspired you to see spots too! Give it a try.

Celebrating the new!

http://wackywatercoolerstamping.blogspot.com
Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler June Blog Hop! If you are following in order, you have just been wowed by the awesome Marie.

This is an exciting time of year to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrator as we are able to showcase the amazing new stamps and paper and all the other fun stuff in the new 2015-2016 Catalogue. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to pre-order items before anyone else can. But, once the catalogue goes live - so to speak - we can show you many more great things.

And the first great thing that caught my eye was the Bohemian Borders photopolymer stamp set. Oh, the possibilities this set has! And the next great thing I had to order was the wonderful new Thick Whisper White cardstock! It is a 100# weight and will be perfect for so many projects.

The main image on this card was inspired by Ann Schach, a very gifted stamper - and a fellow dog lover! What could be a better combination? The colours are taken from the Bohemian Designer Series Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Delightful Dijon. The card stock is, of course, the fabulous new Thick Whisper White cardrdstock. It is a dream to stamp on.

I created the background by stamping the wavy lines from the Chalk Lines stamp set multiple times before re-inking. It makes a perfect complement for the Bohemian Borders stamps. A piece of the Bohemian DSP sets off the design against the white and at the bottom I stamped the 'just for you' from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
The next stamp set on my had-to-have list is Market Fresh. The images are perfect for colouring! And, guess what? The new Thick Whisper White CS is perfect for colouring too! Watercolouring even. How great is that? I stamped the main images with Black Staz-on ink and used the Aqua Painter to colour. Here is my Market Fresh Trio:

Want to see some close-ups?

Blackberry Bliss is a perfect colour for grapes. The leaves were done with Pear Pizazz and Cucumber Crush, Soft Suede for the stem. Delightful Dijon is perfect for the banner. I continued the green and purple colour scheme with the Bohemian DSP and Cucumber Crush cardstock.
Here I used Rose Red for the strawberries, Pear Pizzaz and Cucumber Crush for the leaves, Always Artichoke for the little leaves on top of the strawberries, Soft Suede for the stem and Delightful Dijon on the banner. Another pattern from the Bohemian DSP and Tip Top Taupe cardstock are perfect to highlight these berries.

The last stamp in this fun set! Colours are Cucumber Crush for the lettuce and again Delightful Dijon on the banner. The DSP is also from the Bohemian collection and the cardstock is Island Indigo.

There is co-ordinating Farmers Market Designer Series Paper to go with this stamp set. I haven't ordered it yet - but it will be on my next order I think. Along with another package of that new Thick Whisper White CS. Have I mentioned how much I love it? You have to give it a try!!!
