Welcome to The Wacky Watercooler February Sale-a-Bration Blop Hop! It promises to be spectacular, if Deborah's offerings are an example of what's in store.
Since it's Valentine's Day tomorrow, I'll share a card I made that I think is kind of fun. It uses a FREE Sale-a-bration set - Petal Parade as well as a set from the main catalogue - Tag It. This set is also this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set. For every one of these sets that is sold, Stampin' Up donates $3 to support the charity. To date, SU has contributed over $1,000,000 in time and money to RMHC. I've also used the Chalk Talk Framelits and Fashionable Hearts Embosslits on this one.
Here's a recap:
Stamps: Tag It, Petal Parade SAB
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate
Other: Chalk Talk Framelits, Fashionable Hearts Embosslits
And now, my first ever Card in a Box! It was fun making this project, and quite easy to do thanks to some awesome directions from Heidi, one of our dedicated Hop organizers.
A word of caution about this. I found it a very difficult project to photograph! Guess I need more practice. So please enjoy the various views I am sharing here. I tried to get an over-all shot and then close-ups of different elements.
I used a profusion of blooms and butterflies. Trying to evoke Spring! Also used a lot of rhinestones for bling.
The sentiment, from another fab FREE Sale-a-Bration set See Ya Later, is on the front of the box. This is actually going to be sent to one of my three remaining aunts who has a 90th birthday coming up.
And a close-up of the flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set, which comes with a co-ordinating punch and is available in a bundle for a 15% savings! This bundle is in the Celebrate the Everyday Spring catalogue.
And here's the list of everything I used:
Stamps: Petite Petals, Tag It, See Ya Later, Secret Garden (for the leaves)
Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding
DSP: Sweet Sorbet (SAB)
Other: Petite Petals Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Deco Labels Collection Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Candy Dots

ReplyDeleteAwesome projects. I have yet to try one of the box cards and since it is still snowing like crazy here, I'm going to try one. (as soon as I clean up after my hop projects)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Gail! Love the "heart garden," and the card in a box was perfect. I needed some spring.

ReplyDeleteWow, what a great box card, I am going to give one a try. TFS.
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects Gail. The detail on your box card was inspiring in so many ways. All of your projects set my creative juices going and now my CASE files are filling rapidly. Hugs and thanks for being a part of the hop. Can't wait to see next months edition.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for being part of the blog hop, Gail. I love the growing hearts in your first card. Along with the sentiment from Tag It, it really makes me think of Spring and growing things. The perfect way to use that stamp set! Your card-in-a-box, too, brings on the Spring (a good thing when the only landscape around here is covered with feet of snow). I love the way you used just the balloons and not the iguana from the Tag It set as well, they really do add to your celebration as do all those wonderful flowers. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletegreat projects!! can't wait to join you guys again next time (I hope!)
