Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #147 - Charlotte's Anything Goes Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
This week we have an Anything Goes Challenge from Charlotte.
At this time of year, a lot of us are working on Christmas projects. And, I'm no exception. When the Carols of Christmas stamp set and co-ordinating Thinlits were made available in an early release in the late summer, I was seeing some awesome projects from other demonstrators on Pinterest. One of the early projects I pinned was one done by Sandi McIver, a fellow demonstrator.

I had wanted to CASE her creation as  one of  my  cards for this 2017 Christmas season, and this is my version:
Sandi had many more elements on her card, but mine is simplified. I loved her colour scheme: the card base is Thick Whisper White and I used Tranquil Tide cardstock, DSP from the Delightful Daisy pack, and Watercolour Paper.

For the trees, they were die-cut from Tranquil Tide, then I smeared them with Embossing Paste. Before it dried I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds onto the paste.

The background on the watercolour piece could not be easier to do. It is  simply Bermuda Bay and Tranquil Tide ink applied with an Aqua Painter. I stamped the sentiment from Merry Messages with Tranquil Tide.

And of course, that cute little deer peeking out from behind the tree is from the Carols of Christmas die set, using Champagne Foil.

Now it's your turn. Visit Watercooler Wednesday and check out more inspiration from the team.

  1. Hi Gail, what a gorgeous card. I love your simplified version. The elements such as the watercolouring, the addition of the embossing paste (and dazzling diamonds), and the champagne foil deer really draw one's attention. Love the colours you've used! The Carols of Christmas bundle really provides some wonderful images and dies, doesn't it?
