Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #151 - Charlotte's Feminine Anything Goes Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Welcome to a brand new year of challenges from the team at Watercooler Wednesday!

We also start off a new year with a new member of the Watercooler Artists Team - Helen Finlay. Welcome, Helen!

To start us off, we have a Feminine Anything Goes Challenge from Charlotte.

As well as being the beginning of a new year, this is the time of a new catalogue from Stampin' Up - the 2018 Occasions Catalogue - and the launch of the most anticipated promotion of the year - Sale-a-Bration. For my card I've used a new product from the Occasions Catalogue along with a stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration collection.
The stamp set is called Happy Wishes and is a huge set of 16 stamps that I can predict will be useful for many occasions. I stamped it with Tranquil Tide ink.

The new product is Brusho Colour Crystals. That's what I used on the watercolour paper background behind the sentiment. Brushos come in a set of five colours. I used the Moss Green here.

One of the easiest - and most fun! - ways to use the Brushos is to simply sprinkle a few grains on the watercolour paper, then spritz with water. They almost explode with colour and spread across the paper. A little goes a long way and it is very cool to watch.

I matted the focal piece with Tranquil Tide, then popped it up with Dimensionals. The DSP is my favourite pattern from the Delightful Daisy DSP, and the card base is Lemon Lime Twist. A big, floppy bow of black Baker's Twine is a great finishing touch to ground the design.

Another finishing touch may be a bit hard to see in a photo. Also in the Occasions Catalogue, are Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes. I've used the Glitter Shapes on this. Here's a close-up:

It was fun to work with these bright, spring-like colours.

Now visit Watercooler Wednesday to check out the inspiring creations from the rest of the team.

  1. What a beautiful card Gail. The brusho effect is going to be very popular. I like the colour mashup on this card. It all works. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Gail, what a striking card! Love the variety of papers and patterns you've used. The Brusho background for the sentiment really works well and adds so many little colour tones. The Lemon Lime Twist card base really makes the light blue in the DSP pop. Love the little glitter shape and can hardly wait to get my own.

  3. A lovely card Gail. Your Brusho background really helps to show off the sentiment with great colour combinations. I also love to play with Brusho powders.
